Itinerary: 2 Days From Fes To Merzouga desert

Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga

2 days from Fes to Merzouga Desert, After breakfast in your accommodation, we will meet you and start our tour from Fes travelling south to Merzouga via Midelt and Errachidia. Your first stop will be at Ifrane city, referred to as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, and then to Merzouga via Midlet and the Ziz Valley. During this journey, you’ll experience glimpses of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. Stopping at the famous cedar forest – the largest one in Morocco – where you will have the opportunity to see the Barbarian apes. You’ll notice how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the Er Rachidia city. After lunch in Midelt, your journey continues along the spectacular Ziz Valley, stopping for panoramic views along the way. We will drive through Berber villages to Erfoud, then to Rissani; the foundation of the Alaouite dynasty – the current ruling royal family in Morocco. Arriving in Merzouga at the end of the day, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of mint tea and ride your camel to see the sunset in the middle of the highest dunes in Morocco and spend the night there. Overnight at our desert camp where you will have your dinner.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Fes

Today we continue our tour from Fes and our camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch what well may be the best sunrise in your life. Afterward, you’ll peacefully camel-trek back to your Riad appreciating the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes – changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast and shower in the local guest house we’ll travel to Fes via Errachidia along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, and through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt, stopping in Zaida to enjoy a barbecue and refresh with a glass of mint tea before continuing to Azrou, a Berber village in the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we’ll stop to see the Barbarian apes in the cedar forest. Then we continue the tour from Fes to Ifrane called the French village or the Switzerland of Morocco, stopping for a picture or a drink before arriving at your accommodation where the 2 days from Fes to Desert Fes ends.
